We are midwives and lactation consultants offering pregnancy, postnatal and breastfeeding home visits. We focus on people living in and around the Fleurieu Peninsula, Adelaide Hills and the towns and suburbs south of Adelaide.
About us
Fleurieu Breastfeeding connects you to our experienced Endorsed Midwives and Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) Ali and Marijke.
They provide high quality care, information and advice to women, birthing people and their families during pregnancy, the early months of parenting (postnatal) and with breastfeeding. Their care and advice is informed by your individual needs, the latest evidence and based in kindness. They know the importance of getting the foundations right.
Ali Teate lives on the Fleurieu Peninsula and is available for home visiting on the Fleurieu Coast and surrounds. Ali's focus is on you and your family being well informed and becoming confident during your pregnancy and parenting experiences. No matter if it is your first or your fifth child, each additional family member adds richness and complexity to your family life.
Marijke Eastaugh lives in the Adelaide Hills and is available for home visiting on the Fleurieu Peninsula, Adelaide Hills and surrounds. Marijke is passionate about working with you, enabling you to be empowered and confident as you journey through pregnancy, parenting and becoming a family.
Midwifery and Lactation
We provide a range of services including antenatal and pregnancy care, post birth and postnatal care, breastfeeding support, oral assessment and newborn and infant care.

Antenatal and Pregnancy Care

Breastfeeding and Lactation
We are qualified and experienced midwives and lactation consultants. In the early days of parenting and breastfeeding, families often need assistance. Feeding your baby is a learned skill for both of you.
Services that we offer:
Breastfeeding advice and support
Managing supply issues, mastitis and nipple pain
Pumping
Oral assessment
Some babies can have difficulty with attaching or latching to the breast and with bottle feeding. As experienced lactation consultants we can undertake an oral assessment, provide advice on different feeding positions or techniques, or we can refer your baby for management of oral restrictions such as tongue tie or lip tie. Our referral network includes dentists, GP's and surgeons.
Newborn & Infant care
Your baby is an important addition to your family. As qualified midwives we provide advice and support in their early weeks and months of life.

Medicare Rebates
As Endorsed Midwives we are able to provide Medicare rebatable services and prescribe some medications for you during your pregnancy and until your baby reaches eight weeks of age.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, we can offer bulk billing and it will be at the discretion of the Midwife. In order to be eligible for bulk billing you must have a valid Medicare card and a Government concession card. Travel costs will continue to be billed.
Yes in most circumstances you can choose who to see. But at times only one of the midwives may be available. This is often due to planned leave or other work commitments.
We prefer Monday to Friday office hours but understand that emergencies happen.
